Sandra, I have a girl friend of perfessional painter. She is very hard to herself and many paintings she can not finish as she think that her work is out of the theme. I am sad to see her stop work on her beautiful paintings. Even those master pieces have problems. I would like to see you finish that fish painting, so good color and nice design, I can tell that you already spent time and energy on it.I did not check your photos until now as I am so busy for other things after back from the trip.  I have uploaded my little girl. Please tell me your idea only if you have time.

Woah! I'd hang this on my wall in a minute! Delicious colors.

I am always attracted to painting such as this! This is just wonderful. // Trying to make a very long story short (lol) I have a painting of Portofino, Italy.....our daughter is on her honeymoon at Portofino, Italy and send me a photo of her and the port. I looked up on Google Earth Portofino, and opened many of the photos you can look at. OMGosh! I dont know if you need any more inspiration for your series or not, meaning you may live where you see all sorts of combinations of boats, but if you have time you might consider looking at some of these photos for inspiration. I found some great pictures that I really liked. I never copy a photo exactly so I can not see anything wrong in getting the idea from the internet photos and doing my own thing (as would be in your case). I am blessed to live in a RV motorhome and travel all the time, so I have more of my own photos than I will ever in my lifetime be able to paint. Lots of success on your boat series. You are off to a great start! Ro (Roena)

Thanks so much Diane...I think you are right!

I think the spotlight effect worked because it is certainly the first boat you see. If you put too much more on the blue boat it will detract from your desired effect. Thats my pennies worth anyway!!

Love the contrast of primary colours.

I tried to incorporate Richards spotlight effect on the middle boat...

I think the blue boat on the left may need some more color in it...?
