"Some went off to sea in ships,...They too, observed the LORD'S power in action, His impressive works on the deepest seas. He spoke, and the winds rose, stirring up the waves. Their ships were tossed to the heavens and plunged again to the depths; the sailors cringed in terror. They reeled and staggered like drunkards and were at their wits end. 'LORD, help!' they cried in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness as He brought them safely into harbor! Let them praise the LORD for His great love and for the wonderful things He has done for them." P

Anyway, I like the painting and the verse. ;-)

That's what I meant. God made the waves. He is the power in them. That's why I asked if that's what you were saying, since the values are they same and sky and sea seemingly merge.

Thanks for the kind words to Linda, Betsy, and Craig. No, Betsty, I' wasn't saying that the power from above is the same as the swell. I was letting the Words from the Bible speak about the scene. God is so very much more powerful than the waves. He is the one who made the wind, the waves, and the sea, and the weather.

Hi, Mary,
I, too, like the reference. It is good to have inspiration for a painting, and you picked a great source of inspiration (the best). I see the sea rising up in a swell, threatening the boat. I notice that the swell and sky are all the same value. There's no line of demarcation between the two. Is this intentional? Are you saying the power from above is the same as the swell? Just curious as I meditate on the verses and also your painting.
