Original Oil Painting by Jeri McDonald. 11x14 on panel, plein air painting. Did about 90% of this plein air but had to finish it in my studio as I had an unexpected on looker who talked almost the entire time I was painting. He was a troubled young man and I felt sorry for him so I didn't mind. However, it did make it tough for me to get this right with a lot of adjustments.

Thank you Ann! I got quite a bit of texture from the use of oil primer by Gamblin on my panels. I made a bunch of them. It is much different painting on this surface as the paint does not soak into the ground. It really helps to add lots of textures without piling on the paint. You can scratch out, wipe out, dab out the paint. I love using the end of my brushes to add little twigs onto the ends of the brush.
I like the strong color and energy of your brushwork. I see nice variations of texture and I think even some little scratches here and there.
