PS................the first thing that caught my attention was the sea so I never even looked at the sky.  Now I see the sky needs some improvements and I know you can do it! I will be watching.............dor:))

Thanks Roena for your comments, I agree with your observations and currently have the painting where I can see it so that I become more aware of its short-comings and what I need to do to fix it up!

I started painting in Feb 2009 and still have a long way to go with the process, although I feel I have made signifigant progress in the last couple of months. The other problem I have is not being very good at photographing the paintings for uploading - they actually look better in real life than on-line but still you are right with your comments.

I tend to get to a certain stage and then leave things for awhile, I don't know if this just me or do other people do the same sort of thing?

Hi Lyndon, when I look at my paintings to judge, I try to find what I think looks good and why.  The bottom cloud has some good darks and lights.  It looks fluffy.  The others not so much.  Maybe needs some more darks in them.  The horizon is a bit wavy.  You used the same pink up close and also in the distance.  Better to gray the color for atmospheric perspective or as RR (Richard R) teaches, add a little sky color into the color. /// The beach along the mid ground water appears to be flat (good), but he foreground water takes a dip.  All caused by the brush strokes going down.  The water along the water's edge needs to be flat looking.  Over all...........it is a very good painting.   Good use of color.  Well done. Thanks Anna, I hear what you are saying.

It disturbed me too before I put up the photo but I thought ...what the heck, there are a couple of other small things that I am still not happy with but when I sort those out,  I'll put a new photo.
