Mixed media - acrylic base/water soluble oils
Wanted to get this up quickly, though can't take a good photo today because we have a sandstorm outside! Will try for a better photo tomorrow & meantime, I would very much welcome your critiques & comments! Still can make changes if needed!

Thank you Sharon!  Well, I grew up with snowstorms & I think I prefer sandstorms!  Not so cold & much easier to clear up sand than snow!  But we don't get really severe ones like you may be picturing - usually just poor visibility, often accompanied by high winds & high temperatures.   But once in a while, the sky turns yellowish when there is a lot of sand in the air and that is an interesting sight!

Very nice Jessica!  Wow, don't know if I would rather have a sandstorm or snowstorm!

That sounds intriguing, Laura!  There are still a few pieces missing on this project, so keep an eye on it!

I do have a better photo of this now but think I'll just leave this one, as it's already been added to the composite.  We'd all probably like to do a bit of tweaking once we've seen how they fit together, but there'd never be an end to it if we did that!  So maybe I'll finally take my palette out of the freezer & start another painting!!!

Thank you very much, Dor!  When I first saw this slice, I thought it might be beyond my capabilities! So I'm glad it came out o.k.!  Hope you still get a chance to paint a slice yourself!

Silvana - thanks very much - I was so excited to get a slice!   Sometime I'll post a photo of a sharav, which is what we call this type of weather - this time, there's not so much sand as we get sometimes, but the sky is still not clear.  A sharav can last for about 5 days & sometimes we need to brush a light layer of sand off our car windshield as everything gets coated with it outside!  Will see about taking another photo when it clears up, though Richard has already put this slice up - the brightest area could do with toning down a bit, though it might just be the photo. I actually put my palette in the freezer for the first time (in a plastic bag) to keep the colour mixtures in case it needs tweaking!  Learned a lot doing this project!
