Well, we all must pay our dues painting still life. They are required exercises to learn about light and color mixing. And some people just like them and their "stillness."
You, my friend, have a gift for making order out of chaos. Not everyone can handle or has the aptitude for that. It's the gift of design. Maybe you can find ways to put that into your learning assignments. You might like them better. Please post more abstracts, when you make them. I really like seeing them, even though I am a firmly entrenched realist.

Thanks, Betsy, I think you're right. I painted the still life only because we have an art group, and that's what our leader requested. I appreciate your encouragement.
Judging from your other abstract works, you are too passionate and too energetic an artist to be sedated by a still life. Of course, the same might be said of the viewer's temperament and resulting response to this painting (me). ;-) The abstract works are magnificent, Mr. Barfoot! Keep up the good work there!
