oil on canvas 8 x 10 inches
This is the first setting using my new shadow box. I thought this is a small setting so I used a small canvas. Now I know it is a mistake. There is no room for the weed. Well, this is the first time, you are allowed to make mistakes. Now I can eat my orange.

Thank you Marisa, Laura and Ann for the comments! Ann, I googled Michael S and could not find any specific artist painting still life with that name. Do you know the last name of the artist you referring to?

The blue cube with an orange on top is a great idea. The vase has very good light and shadow to make it look dimensional. Try again with some white flowers coming out of the vase and moving downward toward the orange to make an eye path back to orange. Check the drawing of the vase it seems a bit wonkie. Michael S has great still life that uses white blossoms to bring the eye back down. Check his page for ideas.
