I was intrigued by this photograph uploaded by Ro. I wanted to get the feel of the integrated shapes, rocks, trees and sky.

Li - Thank you. Your comment is much appreciated. I had a lot of fun doing this. And it was quite quick to do. I was worried about the colours being too brash, but then in acrylics, I feel like I can get away with it.
Great color combination Michael. Each color distinguish from each other and yet with harmony together. Great painting.
Not until now! Thanks and Smiles: ))
Zibeth - Thanks for the lovely comment. Pierneef! Wow, that's a great compliment. I wonder how many people on this site might have heard of him?
How's the preparation for your exhibition going?
A Fascinating interpretation of Ro’s photo. Your style reminds me of Pierneef. I like it!
That makes sense Michael! I'll have to learn to apply it! But I still think I need to learn a lot about painting...!
I'll watch J Zbukvic's demo!
Dorian - Thanks for the smiles! I hope I can keep it up.
Laura - Lovely to hear from you. Thanks for the positive and encouraging comment.
Silvana - I was watching a painting demo by Joseph Zbukvic, really well worth watching, and he said 'you need to be confident in what you do, believe in it, because then the viewer will be confident. If you can't convince yourself, you will not be able to convince the viewer". Or something like that :-) It's so true. It's not necessarily what's right or wrong, but how you are able to sell it to the viewer. So... go for it. Be confident.

Fascinating! Smiles : ))
Very interesting painting style Michael. I love these colors in the painting.
Thanks Michael! Yes, I do understand... but I think I have to learn how to paint first... Know how to deal with the complex as to be able to simplify it afterwards. Perhaps I am wrong, but I tend to think that if you know sth forwards and backwards and know all the tricks about it and everything you can, then you can make it extremely simple and do it well... !
