I love Colley Whisson and this is Fab! The colours and the 'seemingly' effortlessness of it.

Inviting painting.  Can feel the sand under foot and hear the waves.  Good use of value and color temperature throughout the painting.

Thanks Deb. Every material has its pros and cons. Yes I have some acrylics too and play around sometimes. I use them frequently to get rid of the white canvas. I just prefer the feeling of the oils and never clean anything.

Jon, guess for a beauty like this pretty much everything needs to be good. It was the color of it that struck me first and wanted me to copy it.

It works so well! is it the edges?!

I first of all found them more difficult, liking the challenge. Like the lower cost of the paint. Liked the glazing possibilities and even the use of some mixed medium. Sometimes like incorporating metallic or iridescent paint.  I like that I can use a hair drier to move things along. AND clean up is nice with water! Ever use them?

Deb, thanks for commenting. Can you explain what it is that makes you want to use acrylics? Just for the sake of being interested what drives others...

When I see this, I am tempted to paint in oil again...but want to be able to get this look in acrylic! :) This is really beautiful.

He's one of my favourite artists in Australia. You have done a fabulous job with such confidence, as usual!
