Don't worry about that!  I made such bad copies off their work, if they were alive, they would probably sue me for defamation! :-/

Hi Aurelia, thank you. I have in fact tried to copy a Payne (Sierra Lake) in November i think. Should have known what you just said back then ;-) Anyway, doing these is probably better than doing my own stuff over and over again.

Lovely painting.  You will learn a lot by copying other artists work.  I love to copy Edgar Payne's and Sorolla's work to figure out their use of optical mixing and find out a lot more than just optical mixing by doing that.  They both, for interesting sake, mix Cerulean blue or a blue-green into ALL their colors, especially Payne.  If I did not copy their work, I would not have known that.  With each master, you will learn something else.  I now study their edges as I am bad at that.
