The horizontal bands look like walls. I had no idea how to correct them.

Very nice - I very much like your subdued color harmonies! - watch out for the horizontal bands (Stapleton Kearns calls it 'wicked stripey") - you could maybe have created a "path" throught the foreground with flowers or shadow or type of grass and possibly left a gap in the 'wall' of trees...
