Thank you very much, Roena, for taking your time making knowledgeable and insightful comments on this painting. You are right, the trees on the left almost left invisible because of the background color. It's also good to know that the blue mountain right behind the green one needs a little color to indicate proximity to the green mountain. I like your comment on this. It is very enlightening when it comes to painting the illusion of distance. Once again, thank you very much.

Your blue mountains go well into the distance. I really like the green mid mountain-well done. I believe that the next 2 blue mountains behind the mid green mountain might need some green on them too. Less distinct / detail, but just some green color. The foreground trees on the left have good light and detail on the trunks. Computer monitors can lie about things, but what I think is very good is the way the trees on the right separate "because of the color behind them" - the blue mountains. The trees with the orange field behind them show up well. The foreground trees on the left get lost up in the leaves because the color behind them is almost the same. So, now you will have something to think about. If I want a green tree in the foreground, what color should I put behind it so that it is different enough to make the front one show up. I have a tendency to get wrapped up in the painting, and I forget about such things as that until after the fact. You are not alone! he he I've been there and done that too. Ro
