Sun Dappled Stream with Early Skunk Cabbage

This is a small stream running through the area which accommodates the salmon spawning and this spot is just down from a salmon ladder.

Hi Lyndon you're a funny guy. Have you scene a skunk or smelt one. Here is a picture of the little critter, if he lifts his tail at you look out it's the most vial stench and once you've smelt it you never forget it. Dogs often come up against them and then it's really hard to get the smell off them and if you let them in the house while they have been freshly sprayed it will be on your furniture for a long time. A bath of tomato juice actually works. But these early spring plants have a similar smell but much gentler in nature. The only thing that you might have gotten a whiff of that would give you a mild idea of a skunk spray, is if you past by some young guys smoking dope.

Denise, you have intrigued, what is skunk cabbage? Whatever it is, I don't think we have it in Australia, we certainly don't have skunks! (unless they're the human kind, lol)
