Suzi Poppies-Color Study

9x12" Oil on RayMar Panel. Color study for my sis-in-law and my 1st Quarterly Challenge (Thank you Richard!) She is a textile, fiber artist and chose the first subject, which is "Poppies" How we compose the subject is up to each of us. Fun!

I can list the tube colors I ended up using if you are interested. Thanks for viewing and your comments, I hadn't even finished loading it...Fast one you are! (The finished painting will probably be 12x16 and landscape orientation, not sure yet.) Just have to keep on painting now that I'm finally doing it! Also, I used probably 4-5 reference photos to put the composition together. A weeee bit insecure, yes?

I have been thinking a lot about how to design such a painting. I like your composition. Is this a limited palette? Nice harmony.
