Thank you again, Cristina, there was story behind this painting that went to my brother who has since passed on.
Beautiful subject, beautiful painting!
Thank you Chan, Dor and Ningnig. This one has my heart because of my brother and then on to my eldest son.
Wow, what a fine art! I love it.
Wonderful painting! Like the subject very much. Smiles coming your way : ))
Very attractive and expressive.
Hi Betsy, I painted this for my brother many years ago, 1996 I think, so the concept is way back there but the point is the Chief is being protected and directed via the tribe talisman, the spirit Eagle. The lodge fire's smoke has encompassed the Chief, and is rising up to the Eagle in unity. Probably not historically correct but this is my interpretation of my scene. My brother has since passed away and The Chief and his spirit Eagle has made it's way back to me. I had not seen it for 10 years until my sister-in-law decided I should have it back. It was a labor of love and respect back then, and I thoroughly enjoyed the intricate work. My life, eyes, and methodology have changed along with the years. It will now travel on to my eldest son and be representative of the man/mentor/Uncle who played an important part in his life. So I suppose one can yes to both...sacred smoke and spirit vapor as well. Thanks for asking Betsy.
Carolyn, is that smoke or spirit drifting up to the eagle?
