#29 of my 365 Paintings in 365 Days.
This is a requested commission painting. That is why it is a little different. It took me about 6 hours to paint today. It was a little challenging.
Learning points:
1. Getting the contrast in colors I wanted when working on a light background
2. Putting a threshold (even if it is in the sky)
3. Shiny ribbon
4. The anatomy of a flamingo in flight
5. Standing in front of a mirror and trying to see how a jockey on a horse would look and where to put knees and elbows
6. A dozen or more rough sketches to get the composition right.
7. Staying within a color palette.
8. Learning to take breaks; my feet hurt.
9. Photographing the painting in near darkness to not have glare from the wet paint (that is why it is a little grainy)
