My most recent work, completed while I am here in the McKenzie Country of South Canterbury in New Zealand. I am at present doing a 3 month artists residency here. This was up at Tekapo and along the Roundhill Road. The weather has been rather unusual for this time of year, many days being gray all day and consequently not good for photography or doing plein air. Some brighter days have come recently however at the time I worked in this spot I had decided just to go and do some exploring but loaded my art gear and lunch etc. It was a very windy day and I came across this road I had never been on before. What a paradise and then to my great delight this beautiful spot and hardly a breath of wind. I spent a couple of hours here doing a small plein air, just me, the magic of the view, the warmth of the afternoon and the calls of birds.
