Oil on canvas paper, 6x12
I think half-way through this painting I said something like, "I hate painting!" Or possibly, "What is this crap?" But, by george, I think I'm learning something. One thing I have definitely realized: I cannot make up stuff that doesn't exist. Maybe when I'm a bit more experienced I could try that, but for now I am stuck with following the photo references pretty closely.

It's interesting you titled this 'The Kiss' because I had that same thought when I first saw the photo!

Nice texture, your painting feel alive with movement.

Good mixture of cool and warm tones.

Thanks for the comments everyone!  Did anyone notice the fingerprint in the upper right-hand side? ;-)

Nice!  Lovely tones in this, especially in the river.  I do wonder about the focal point though.  I'm most drawn to the delicious brush marks in the foreground river.

Has many elements of a great painting, except that I cannot see where the light is coming from.

I forgot to mention that originally the focus of the painting was supposed to be the kiss of the two mountains, but I took out the highlight in that region because the focus shifted to the foreground.
