So beautifully done, love the brushwork!
Thanks for your comment Michael. Yes, the highest bird did bother me, but thanks for letting me know the other problems too. I did not notice that before, and will work on that some more as this is my first painting for next year exhibition I am planning.
By the way, I also finished all the assignments on the VAA. I am now waiting for Barry to introduce VAA2 and the portrait course. Hopefully within the next few weeks.
Great to see your work, Aurelia. This is a lovely painting - you've progressed so much I see. I like the thicker paint and the colour composition. I would just mention some smallish points: compositionally, perhaps one of the vertical poles could have been extended upwards to tie together the sky as well; the highest bird is on a tangent with the top of the wall; the boat could be move upward so that it is not quite on a level with the pier; some dark accents could be introduced under the pier to make it pop; the sky (if it is sky) does not quite read as sky perhaps because of the short dabs of paint, which have been used in the water too (would be good to use different marks). As I said, these are small points and just my opinion!
Nice composition and tones!
Thank you. This was fun to paint.
Very pretty! Like the movement in the water and the warm tones on the dock. Also the seagulls are great!
very lovely.. you definately know how to manipulate colors and strokes to make it come alive..
