OK, thanks guys! That barn was really nifty - then I decided to improve it - arggh!!!  - the way I paint, I think it's probably better to stop very early (some time beiore the block-in? ;( )

I think your light source isnt obvious. The water immediately behind barn is lit   at an angle!    overhead!

No  lit bush rims to guide me.

I might subdue that section and have water near the back lit  up with maybe a break  in the sky or else focus on the barn. But Im probably the one way off base

Hi, Lina - comments are always welcome - it helps both ways (critiquing helps us to develop) - so don't worry about being off base. I was just looking at it and thinking of that (division between foreground and mid-ground very sharp), just now! Well, I don't know either - but if we both thought of it, so there's probably something in it! Take care, Jon

Hi Jon! I think you have a lot of good things going right in this paint. In some ways it feels like two paintings because it feels like you have 2 center of interests, the barn and maybe the bright blue water or the middle island...? Now that I've presented my humble opinion...I'm poor at giving suggestions on what could help :). Or more likely I'm way off base!!!
