Towards Kenbane

Oil painting. Part of our beautiful and rugged North Antrim coastline, not far from the famous Giant's Causeway, close to the ruins of Kenbane Castle.

Comment by Edith McClelland AEA UWA WCSI on August 29, 2011 at 4:35: Yes John, I was approx 6 to 8 feet above, perched on a rock when I took the photo ref for this painting.... any closer and I would not only have had wet feet, I would have been soaked! There is no hard and fast rule about wave height, or anything else for that matter, it all comes down to perspective [as you say, it depends on where you are standing and the horizon line versus the object].

Comment by John Dee on August 29, 2011 at 1:05: My type of picture great movement the eye could be a little more open and fuller with the light blue sky colour in it . love it tho Edith. i'm always being told the height of the wave should brake the sky line but i'm not sure about that would only do that if i was at sea level. you are a little above eye level looking down on the wave ?
