Thankyou Carol. Twelve months ago I wouldn't have been able to attempt this.  By the way, I love your surname. My little grandson has Brock as his first name!

Thankyou Li. I am understanding so much more thanks to Richards lessons :)

I must say that this is one of my favourites of your work. Everything in it are all so well done and for me it is an excellent job of realism with those 2 vivid cute little birds busy on the beach and that seagull swinging swiftly through the sky. I enjoy this one with a singing heart.

Thankyou for your nice comments George and Catherine. I also am not sure about the background mountains but I was trying to get depth and atmosphere into the painting. A bit too much perhaps?

The rock, the beach, the reflections, the water waves, seagulls, the depth, the atmosphere, the palm trees,

I am a bit not convinced by the far mountains and the far beach

But all in one this is a beautiful painting

Congratulations Ngaire! George

... i like your addition of the seagulls ...  nice sand too.

The beach color and reflection in the sand is really nice, along with the large outcropping rock with the palm trees in the backgrould. The fading misty mountain adds such a nice depth to the painting too. I think everything works beautifully except for the large splash on the rock. It is not as convincingly real as the reat of the painting---which like I said is really nice! :)
