Watercolour - Tried to be really loose on this one. Watercolour will only let you go so far before you have to concede and try again......

Thank you Mary, i will certainly try your tricks of the trade in my next wc. I love watercolour but i always get a bit nervous and feel that i'm not completely relaxed with it. Your tips will help me loosen up i'm sure :-))
by the way - before I concede, I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Have you ever tried gently washing out a large area with a Magic Eraser sponge? That's a kitchen sponge. A woman I used to take classes with washed out a large area once in a background and then went back in and worked out over it - won best of show in a juried watercolor exhibition with it! Daniel Smith watercolor ground is also amazing. You can paint it over an area and you are back to white. When it dries you can paint over it just like on your paper. And of course I also use little scrubbing brushes for tiny areas.
Thank you Casey
Lovely, it has a mysterious feel, and the figures add wonderful scale.
