Take off the colour it  still looks so beautiful. You handle the value very well. I especially enjoy the subtleness of the value contrast of the foreground.

Thanks Jessica. I will try for some more highlights. I'm not good working with oils as I don't know how to paint alla prima without muddying the colours, so I'm going to have to let this dry a bit before I play more.

Interesting - you used beautiful colour in your painting & less contrast of values.  Maybe you could have a few highlights in the water to create more of a lead-in & lighten the sky a little, though it's a beautiful painting as is. When I did the same exercise with my painting earlier today, I decided I want more tonal contrast & plan to try again.
