Thanks Dor, Li, Helena and Casey for your positive comments and to those who like this painting. This was certainly a challenge. Feel I could do away with the wave on the left to not detract from the others. I got so involved in painting the waves I lost my intended focal point. Also I didn't achieve the lighting effect I wanted. ....and then there is the brushwork! Love seeing how others have approached this scene.... So instructive. Can't wait for next months challenge;)

I agree with Casey about the foam. It is a beautiful piece. I also like your keen observation of different layers of shallow water on the beach and the movement of the water and waves. Your contrast is so good that my eye keep on the front ground long time to enjoy the movement of water and other details long time before I start to pay attention to the background. Seems like waves can creat a dramatic effect of a painting.
