Hazel, I do not know how to paint with Pastel.But I think this one did not show your real skill which I saw in your oil. Maybe you did not have enough  time . Waiting to see another one with oils as you mentioned when your visitors leave you alone.

My drawing skills leave a lot to be desired I'm afraid!!! Yes I know - practice, practice, practice!!!

What I really liked when I saw Richard's photos for this Workshop was the lovely s shaped lead in of the rocks and posts. I would like to do this one again sometime with oils, more time to spare, and without a house full of visitors!
