I really like this painting. The colours are so beautiful and rich.
To answer your questions, my older portraits (Keira Knightley and Jim Caviezel) are painted using soft pastels while my newer ones (Sadie and Mom) are painted using water-mixable oil. I've only started painting landscapes in the last two months, so all my landscapes are also in water-mixable oil.
Thanks Sharon! I painted this using Windsor & Newton's water mixable oil :D
I used to use soft pastel to paint portraits though
Simply amazing, can't wait to see your still life, so much different than painting scenes. All your paintings are pastels, correct? Love the soft, glowing light.
Thank you very much Angela!
You're welcome Diane! I'm happy it inspires you to have a go! :D
Wow thanks for sharing your painting process. No wonder it has such depth and glow. Layer on layer on layer . I'm inspired to have a go:)
Thanks Angela! I'm glad you like it!
Here's my step-by-step photo album of the painting process:
