Iran thanks so much for your insightful thoughts. You are correct about the mountains and I will rework them.

Hi Terri. I think the base of your painting is solid and very good. The lights are correct, the reflections are nice, the shore line and how the shed is higher than the water is very good and also the trees have a very good balance and 3 dimentional view. I think a little bit more work on the mountains would have brought this painting to a better result. Dont be afraid to put more jues (shades) into them. zoom in the photo and you will find out how many shades are in the mountains which gives them the 3D view and all the slopes and picks. It is true the the boat house is the center of intrest of this painting but the huge mountains in the backround will lead the eyes back and forth from the house and them and will vibrate the painting very much... think about it. Thanks so much Rita, now that you mention it the water does look frozen (it wasn't on purpose!) :)

Very nice painting, Terri. I love the warm colours and how your water just looks frozen. I really like it, a very cold Autumn morning after a freezing cold night. So, no much sailing today,...only iceskating ^_^. Well Done, Terri!!!
