Thanks for the nice comments. This is one of my rare snow scenes and the challenge for me was to convey the cold but have enough warmth in the painting to balance it and make the viewer want to stay in the painting. I'll be moving to Sisters, Oregon in the very near future (at the base of the Cascades) so I guess I'll be doing much more winter snow scenes than I do now - Ha!

Captivating balance, the perspective is unique and I really like it..I can definitely tell where the sun is and I have the urge to turn around to witness the gorgeous sunset that is casting these beautiful colors...well done

All the paintings you have posted now are very beautiful; I especially like the glow in this one on the trees, reflected on the snow & water - it looks warm & inviting because of it, though no doubt it's actually icy!  Welcome to the group!
