Casey, I love your light effect. Yesterday, I went to a beach. What I saw was just like this. How did you do it? Did you put some white in the every colour you brushed on? Or after you finished it you brush on a light grey colour on the whole canvas? Very well done.
I like the warm color of the sand with the cool of the distant trees. Your front will come to life when you add some more color and fix the water shape, right now it looks like a grey square. Nice start ! Happy Painting
And lucky you, being able to go to this beautiful place!
Thanks,Diane, i
I'll try that. The sky area needs some interest. I haven'touched it yet, and have been avoiding mystudio all morning.
This is a great effort Casey. I often go to this place and your rendition of it is very good. Do you think a little light in the sky area to show where your lovely shape of light is on the beach has come from??
This is the first pass for workshop 18. Irecord it here because Iwill almost certainly ruin it today. Not to sound overly pessimistic, but I am sort of advancing in the dark, not really knowing where to go from here, as always with a new appproach, no matter how well explained to me. It almost never works out before a few tries.
What I see here is that the background is too precise and the foreground too messy/no detail at all. I am off to try to remedy that now. This may be the last word on this particular painting, but there is always the next one....
Also, this is being painted with cobalt water soluble oils . I love the idea of them, but the onsistency is sticky and they seem to be low in pigment.
