This afternoon I tried the large and loose approach style using a painting from The Painterly Approach by Bob Rohm. The 6 step illustrations kept me on track and as a beginner I need all the help I can get! I removed my tag from my other painting because I want to let it dry and then revise it using the good feedback I received from my painting friend Michael.

Thank you Catherine! I copied the painting from a demonstration book. When I worked up close the trees looked liked globs of paint. But I was pleased with the way they turned out. I'm trying to paint looser. Nice to see you joined this website. Its been very helpful to me.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your trees !
Beautiful Linda!
It's wonderful Linda!
Thank you Jessica, Roberta, Mario, Mary Jo, and Ningning for your kind comments. I really struggled with the goal of this workshop because nothing was working. I'm sure you have all been there! Then on the last day I painted this in 5 hours and felt like it flowed.. so maybe I learned something this month!. I like vibrant colors but sometimes it gets me in trouble.
The autumn message is delivered dramatically. It reminds me what I saw in Canada and east of US when we travelled there. Unbelievable burning colours. I also noticeed that your use different layers to creat texture. I am planing to do so for my next work. I think it makes a painting more professional look. Linda, I love this one.
Love this color palette. Looks like you had a lot of fun with this one!
yes,vibrant colors !
Nicely done Linda. Love those vibrant colors in the trees.
