This is the third try at getting everything that in this entry.

I loved the rugged river of melting snow in the photograph; therefore, it became the focus of the painting. The challenge was to make it seem to run off into the background.

The foreground river is very nice. The color is excellent and the white water around the rocks adds a feeling of movement.

Thank you, Judy. I'm glad you made the observation about the orange trees. I have been mulling them over in my mind. You helped me make up my mind. Now after watching Richard's video, I basically want to start the whole painting over again. I do appreciate your kind comments.

Great job on the river perspective, nice pallette , and very good composition.  The red trees seem a bit far back, maybe that warm color would be better up front or repeated there.    WELL DONE

Thank you, Suzi.  You are so generous with really insightful suggestions.  I don't know if I have any more time to fiddle with the painting, but thank you for your suggestion.

good browns in the foreground water...maybe that stark blue in the water doesn't quite read...the green in the far-off mountain is maybe a tad warmish...love your trees!
