Thanks, Jim. Appreciate the feedback. It's funny because I never really paid much attention to the center oval (I was so focused on the petals), but now that you point it out, it's all I see!
I guess it's a requirement to be very artistic if living in NZ, no? So many great artists from that part of the world...
Jon, for an entry-level painter, (as you described yourself in your intro), this is really GOOD! Tones and values are really nice!
The one little thing that caught my is that round section in the middle of the flower. If you could turn that oval into a couple of smaller petals, it might be less "perfect" and less obvious -- just a thought.
