I have taken some time off from painting anything for fun to pursue some focused exercises on color mixing and application. While doing that, I had signed up for this workshop because I wanted to play with the idea of mark making and texture. I really should have started this a couple of days earlier because I felt rushed but it was fun. I also did not want to use a more saturated color palette, instead focusing on the gray moodiness of an overcast day. I am kind of bummed with this photograph because it is making the blue pop more than it really does. I used more of a slate grey blue which looked nice. Oh well, back to the color course.
