After joining this group months ago and frozen as to where to start I am just going to dive in and follow Richard's really well planned instructions...loved the idea of the gamut mask and will be working this way for quiet a while I think to get some working knowledge of color.....

You are right Patricia, they are almost mirror images of each other. I will shorten the one on the right.

Love the mood of this painting Caroline. 

Just a small suggestion in your composition, the yellow rock and the vertical brown rock on the right, share the same height and compete with one another. 


I put my thumb over the top edge of the yellow rocks on the left hand side, and it made a big difference. Try it and see what you think...  

Love the atmospheric perspective in your work, it is done very well...  :))
