Notans, 5 value studie and two colour studies.
I never made notans before, or a limited valuestudie, but this is a really good start of a painting. I learned a lot of it. I really like the blue/ orange, so those colours I'll use for my final painting.

Thank you for your nice comment, Pauline. I'm happy with this 'new' discovery, I just made new ones for another painting, and they look really nice too. With all that I've learned and the colourstudies, painting will be even more fun than it already is. I begin to understand 'colour' and 'values' a little better.
These value studies are spot on Rita. i love the blue/orange as well. Very bold design, i agree that its a great way to start a painting and get a feeling for your subject....well done you :-))
Dor, thank you for your lovely comment, I absolutely love these colourstudies. I'm trying to do them for my future paintings as well. They really helped to paint less details, but still too much for a really loosen-up painting. And I think these colourstudies make great gifts.
You did much more than play with colors. You actually did what you were susposed to do and dummy me could not figure it out. Boy I better get to work. This is a fantastic presentation...............: ))
Thank you Patricia and Aurelia, for your supporting and nice comments, I appreciate it. I loved making these notans and colour studies and will do this with future paintings also.
Wow, this is some lovely studies you've made. Strong notan designs, nice value study as well as good composition. And you thought you didn't do good? Yes, I like the blue and orange one too. Good job!
