Xiao,

Think of the mountain as a geometric shape when you think of lighting it.  In the example of a cylindrical picture, which I uploaded, you can see that as the light falls on it, the values change. This is what needs to happen on the mountain itself.

An idea might be to actually shine a little torch light, or a small desk lamp might also work, on the spot of your painting where you think the light hits the mountain, and see how the values changes.  At the moment they are almost all the same.

Before you paint the changes, it may be an idea to actually draw what you see, so that you understand the concept before you paint it.

I re-watched Richard's video on how to create a glowing effect on mountain top and tried to use the technique here, but it didn't seem working well. Any help?
