20 x 20 cm, Acrylic on canvasboard.
I've used one of the resource photos of Richard and one of my own, for the chickens on the tree-trunk. Again a very funny painting to make.

Thank you, Nancy for your nice and lovely comment. I do like the idea of illustration in a childrensbook ^_^. Thats exact what my partner already told me to do, a few years ago when we med and he saw my drawings. I did make a few very sweet childrens paintings, my two grandchildren did get ofcourse the first ones, and they liked them very much. There are stil a few drawings that should become paintings, I think I'll will finish them. They are fun and very colourful. Thank you again for reminding me, we did have the idea for a childrensbook about kittens, maybe it's time ^_^.

Really fun painting, Rita. There really is a story here. I can see this as a delightful illustration in a special children's book. Well done.

Hi Li, I'm a bit behind in reply, but Thank you so much for your nice words and comment. It's nice to find out that I'm on the right way and start to find my own style.

Li, Elfrida en Dor, thank you for liking my painting. :)) I appreciate it very much.

Rita, I enjoy both of your work. this one has more color. It is amazing how harmonized color you applied which have a special charm on me. Each of your chickens has a life and relationship with each other. I don't know how to analaze it. But one thing I can tell is that it was come from your heart with all your emotion and feelings.  Again, you already have your own style. For me it is excellent.

Thank you, Ngaire for your lovely comment, I really appreciate it.
^_^ Dor, I don't mind,...^_^ I know what you're talking about: Petit Point. And you're aboslutely right, it's like a beautiful embroidery that was used throughout the centuries in firescreens, or cushions. :) :)  I'm still not quite sure which one I prefer, I like both, but the painting resembles more to the lighter scan. Unfortunality that happends everytime I've made a photo ánd a scan. Most of the time I know right at the moment which one to up-load...except this time, hence the two photo's.

Guess what?  I have changed my mind and decided now that I like this one best!..........It reminds me of a piece of needle point! I think that is what it is called.  Do you know what I am talking about?  (very intricate hand stitching, of an image on  canvas)  or something like that!  : ))

Lots of work has gone into your painting Rita!  I like the placement of the chickens in the front.

Patricia, thank you for your lovely comment. I'm so happy that it turn out so well, the colours I've used, Alizarin Crimson, Winsor Blue and Cadmium Yellow, looked great in the two colourstudies, but I didn't seem to get the colour right in this painting.
But I'm happy with it, my favorite part are the chickens in the front, they are looking so happy and relaxed on their tree-trunk. The rooster looks like he is wondering if there is place enough for him, but I'm afraid the ladies don't like the idea.

I absolutely love your family of chooks.. All colours and sizes just happily mingling together on the farm, with some naughty chooks about the fly the coop too...  Love it!!    (Chooks is Aussie slang for chickens)
