Your painting looks very nice Li, I would be framing that one for sure I can tell you put some well spent time into it.
You read my mind as well Hezel, normally I would not have posted this painting in this stage but I posted it to make the deadline. I'm thinking of taking the middle mountain mass center hill out all together and make a straight land mass at the back right mountain range to help with many clone issues.
I agree with you. Change the mountain line will help and the beach line is horizontal but can add some variety on it to make it not too boring. By the way, it is a very good job for a 40minutes painting. I spent 8hours for mine and still can tell the mistakes in it. There is always something I do not like and want to correct . Sometimes ruin the painting.
You mean the slop of the beach, I agree I should have more of a straight line for a balance to the painting and to slow down the viewers eye, but I don't think I'll make the whole beach line perfectly straight only about a quarter of it. The one thing I do want to change the most is my mountain lines take the viewer out to the right too fast just like the beach, I'll fix this later with hill or mountain lines moving you back into the paining from the left. I'll put in more suggested strokes for buildings in the distance. This was a 40 minute rush job and it show but it will be fixed later in the new year.
Ethan, I like your value and color relationship and their simplicity. Your figurers are very nicely done in shape and perspectives. Be careful the horizontal line of the beach.I like this painting.
Very well done Ethan! Glad I got to see this before I left on my Christmas holiday...........smiles to you : ))
