Thank you so so much Jessica, Carolyn, Jen for all your kind words, encouragement! I mean it!! I started another color study which is yellow, red, green, blue. It is a very good excises to do. I will do more practice on oceanscape I think to really apply Richard's principle to my own painting.

Laura, you said you were going to paint this one again.  wishing you lots of happiness when doing so, as really great one to do.  Be careful with the light in the wave and turning over, as this one above really does glow nicely how you have done. Enjoy your hours painting.j

Laura, very moody, dramatic work here. You are such a willing student and your practice and diligence keeps transferring to really good stuff. Well done on a difficult assignment.

Laura, you are so welcome. it is wonderful to see someone wishing to learn so much on their art - very satisfying to us to hear/see.   Glad you understood as am not so good always at putting my thoughts into words/explaining. Wishing you lots of good painting for your next one.  Just take time and keep looking backwards and forwards at Richards, bit by bit, one step at a time. Looking forward to your next one!

Hi Jen again, I think I owe you a good painting of this. You are amazing artist teacher! From your comments I learned not  just solution and also you made me understand why doing this way the structure of waves movement. After all, I did some enhancement on these areas followed your guidline. I will take a picture first thing tomorrow and post it. But, after I see your painting, I decided to give another fresh try to count on all the valuable comments into a new painting. Thank you so very much for you help Jen!!!

Laura, Hi. Back again. Looking at the added to one below. Good job, so quick. Hope this is what sort of thing you are after. Where you have now made darker at bottom of see thru wave, go back into it and bring some of the highlight gently into it and dark softly and gently fading into green, ie soften so no sharp light to dark, as at present there is too much sharpness in the values of dark to light ie makes green like a defin circle. Make it so that it is gradual effect.  then at top of wave, just before the white going down left of green see thru, have a relook at Richards and at top slightly darken edge  under white turning of wave and towards where it turns right of see thru, and give look as tho wave turning over towards us with white cap on top.  Take back a little the yellow highlight on front edge waves on beach, ie soften yellow colour you have there a little.  As said, good job tho and just by doing these will make such a difference.  Await next one? ?
