A very nice and peaceful scene. if I were you, Char, I would make more obvious difference between the light part and shadow . I mean more value contrast. But of course, people are different, Just an idea.

Thanks Roena for your comments I certainly painted myself into a corner with the pine tree for sure. I will try your suggestions. I am trying to loosen up on my painting but it's a slow process for me.....I spent all my working years with detail...so am attempting to untrain my brain I think hanging on this site will help a lot!

Your brush work is nice and the water is wonderful.  I think though that  you have 3 trees fighting to be the star.

Perhaps still lighter, brighter yellows on the left tree,and play down the pine tree in the background using some of the sky colors mixed with your green.  Perhaps Steven will comment as well.
