Amy, I totally agree with Nancy. This is a highly harmonized beautiful work. Just needs a bit high lights.

Nicely painted. I think you are right, Amy. The tree is the focal point, but it's values are exactly the same as the shrubs and grasses on both sides of the stream. If you put a spotlight on it and really lightened it, it would pop out. You did a great job of painting throughout. Lovely work.

Very Nice!  colors are great.  You could try to highlight the tree, wouldn't hurt!  :)

I think I needed some lighter values to highlight the foreground tree?
