So cute. Looks cold and grumpy. Good work.
Thanks for your feedback, Elbhlin! I think you're right about the beak. When I have a bit more time I will work on it. :)
Thanks for your feedback, Candi! I'll start with the lights first and will definitely check out more versions.
Hi Nancy! i think you did a good job on this! Agree, it does look like a young bird, so an appropriate title! I don't think you need to go darker, but I think your lights could go lighter. Do a search for Workshop59, and compare your values to some of the others, and that should give you a better idea of how you can make this even better! That's why I like this site, can also learn from all the artists that nail these workshops!
I really enjoyed painting this seagull. I can see he has some problems--like he's too round-- that's why I named him Young Jonathan. His nose is a bit awkward and maybe too long for his size. Still I find him endearing. :D The colours are not adjusted quite right--the real picture may be a bit warmer and slightly greener. Looking at it now, I think I could make the background still darker and the reflected light even lighter. I'm going to go back to work on him a bit more--but wanted to get my painting in for the deadline to have a chance for the drawing. I welcome your comments.
