Do you have any goals for your painting?: Being a mostly self- taught “artist”, I am looking to learn more and improve my composition –especially to learn how to simplify a composition- to improve the contrast in my paintings, how to achieve maximum impact on the canvas with a restricted palette and many, many more.

I started painting 7 yrs ago when I retired at 70 and tried acrylics and oils before I found watercolors. I love watercolors but alas, it's a medium where looseness is a great asset and well, I very detailed. You know start wuth an 1 1/2" brush and find yourself using a rigger in short order..... Will have a think about that one. I am very pleased with my painting of the Great Lake and the leaves weren't difficult at all. I have a nice little angled brush and simply used the side of it to create the leaves!
