Today is a good day as I am painting. Just taking a break. Thank you for asking. I went to look at your gallery and only found this painting. Didn't you have more? Beautiful work........I am trying to be BOLD with my colors and think (there in lies the hard part) about what colors I am usinging and why! LOL Wish me the best! Ro

Hi Barbara,
You did not upset me at all- I was so pleased you took the time to comment on my painting.
The glass balls sound very interesting, it is amazing the things we remember from our childhood. The ocean and beaches here are so beautiful from the calm and crystal clear waters to the big mean breakers. Blues greens - ever changing from day to day plus also the different areas.
Happy painting your friend Michele

If you did this plein aire ---- you be good girl -- then you were better to judge how it appeared. I'm still trying to "get out there". My brain is going 90 MPH in my thought process right now. I am wondering if what we think we are seeing is what can be painted to pull off the painting? I know I have read something that RR said about this. If I can remember where it was I will send it over. ((something like ?? is darker than it appears and ?? is lighter than it appears))). Shoot! Have you met Terry Clair? He is SO knowledgable and SO willing to help and does plein air. Send him a note and pose a question to him. I highly recommend him as a friend if he is not one of yours already. Ro My greatest desire is to be able to paint the effects of light too.

I went to a birding place yesterday and found this pic. I think I could print this pic out and go back around the same time of the day and just "pay attention" and take notes. That might be a really easy and good idea for me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCckvQBAfNE Have you watched RR (Richard Robinson's) Atmospheric Perspective thing on youtube? I think the topic is covered in debth on the Master Class DVD - I dont remember exactly -sob. I thought you did really well on the water fall painting, but the colors were all so bright even in the distance. On other paintings you might give RR atmospheric perspective color mixing a try. Bacisly colors just gray down some the more they go off in the distance. // I once had a good artist friend take me outside and told me to "look". What she pointed out was just details on a bush 15' away, 1/2 block away, and 6 blocks away. That sort of goes along with atmospheric graying down of colors. Besides, I just thought of it so I mentioned it. All good stuff. Of course my mentioning it to you just made me remember it for myself! he he Ro

Whooo Hoooo.....party! I'm at a cross roads with my art and can not decide what to paint, try to paint, which color course exercise to do OR which new thing to go sight see where we are right now. This stupid road map did not come with instructions! I think I will go back to the beach and suffer wading in the surf! Tough job, but somebody has to do it! he he Ro

The gifts are just little fun things we send each other......the red ribbon is free, the others are charged for and a way for the NING group to make money (yeah right!). When you send the gift there is a place to write a little special note. /// All of those leaves should be a real challenge.........lots of luck. LOL Ro

I have watched Jerry Y once or twice. Traveling the way we do all the time, I have a problem trying to locate and watch art on the TV. I did think he was very good. On this site go to FORUM, then COLOR (or MASTER CLASS) and you can read / post anything you do concerning the color or MClass lessons. PLEASE.....please (begging you) post your exercises as It seems that I am almost the only one doing it right now. Gail will when she gets time to do the class. You will gain a lot of knowledge from Terry Clare as he is so good to share. There are quite a few who do acrylic on this site. Talk soon, Ro
