Do you have any goals for your painting?

I feel like I've come a long way in a short time with my art because I haven't done much art at all until the last two years but I've always considered myself an artist on the inside.

I love impressionist, expressive brushstrokes and I wish that I could really learn how to paint well using this approach. But, lately I feel that I'm loosing my natural expressiveness just trying to hard to render something that's realistic. I started working in pastels and I still love them but then I started oil painting which I really like but in some ways it's more challenging.

I think that I really need some good instruction to fill in the technical gaps. I feel that I naturally have a good sense of composition and what makes a scene dramatic like that spotlight effect but I have trouble translating that to my canvas sometimes.

I love painting and I wish I could travel and support myself doing it. Sigh...
