'Rangiputa Morning' 36x48" Oil on Canvas

 Plein air sketches in preparation for the larger studio painting.

 

Hi All,

been working on this big one for a few days and am finally ready to lay my brush down. This is a commissioned piece. The clients chose the bluer of the two plein air sketches so I kept pretty close to that in the big one, changing the composition a little bit and adding a little more 'morning glow' into the sky and beach colours. Haven't shown it to them yet but hopefully they like it (always a bit of a worry with commissions). Time for a coffee.

It's fabulous Richard!  I love that you added the violet.  It is perfect!
