"Tunnels Beach" 12x16" Oil on Canvas by Richard Robinson
We're back home now, but this was the last painting of our wee Hawaiian holiday.
Pre-palm tree. Note that the contrast in the finished painting below is different to the progress photos above because I have adjusted the colour in the final photo to better match the painting. When photographing against the glare of the beach it makes the painting much darker, and that's what happens to our eyes whilst painting as well so it's a good idea to try and paint against a shady background wherever possible, and always with the canvas in the shade.

Beautiful use of cool colors, Richard, and your comments are the best.
Beautiful painting, Richard! I love the cool colors.
Richard, I just love the texture you've achieved here. This is beautiful!
Like this one the best The best for last :)
Love the Yummy colors you use !
That's a soltek pro.
Great depth in this one. Who or what company made your easel? Model? Thanks.
Thanks Guys, Xiao the light green on the mountain is a mixture if cad yellow light, ultra blue and white. Will do a larger painting of this because I like the scene so much. This is not reading as well as it could at the moment - the forms on the mountain are a little confusing and there's not enough colour recession at the top. Love how those traditional boat sails make a perfect 'play button' triangle.
I've been there! It's beautiful there just like your painting! We tried to go snorkeling but it was too rough that day. This brings back great memories! Except for that hike back up:)
I really love richness of the greens on your hill. Did you make a few pile of different shade of greens? and may I ask how these green grey were made?
