10x8" Oil on canvasboard

Seems like just about every time someone pops in from overseas to paint with me I end up taking them out to this spot. And why not? It's close, beautiful and has a nice cafe. Returning to the same spot gives you the chance to try something different, which is what I did here, doing a portrait of the subtle colour changes in the sand leading to the ocean. A few seagulls were having a bath in the stream which turned out to be a nice little finishing detail. See that orangey colour I've added into the foreground? It wasn't really there but I thought it would be nice and I repeated it out to the ocean to help lead the eye through the painting.
