Thank you Matteo. I am so happy that Richard teach us how to paint a boat this time. Can not wait to learn. I will looking for your work there after you post it. Good luck and happy painting.
Thank you very much, Jim, for your approval and the time to write this critique.
Very nice. Light and dark, warm and cool, soft and sharp. Love the the sky reflections. Sun reflection really declares the focal point and provides a nice warm second light. Overall almost feeling cooler in the front and warmer in the back this working just fine here.
Mario, thank you. This is the first time that I paint a boat. I was lucky that it turned out to be a good job. About the colors of the boat, I tried to put on different colors in the same value so that it create a vibrant bright colour combination in stead of a boring light greenish yellow. This was I learned here. But I need to practise more to handle this trick better. Now, I am learning how to handle the relationship between the boat and its surroundings. As there is amost nothing around it , only water and sand under the water. It is difficult for me. I am going to use whatever I Ilearned here to make it works. When it is done I will post here for critiques and surggestions from you and other classmates. Wish me a good luck.
great job, I like the colors of the boat
Dorian, Thank you. But I found that I do not know how to paint it bigger. Too long time only paint small ones, when I want to paint on a 60cm x 50cm canvas, I am not sure which brushes I should use. And I found that it need more effort to get the colour correct. Interesting. By the way, I just checked your page these days and found a few very well done pieces. One of them is the grasses in the wet land. It is so beautiful. Those subtle colour changes and details of brush strokes tell the story. I love it!!!!! Happy for you too.
Congratulations on an outstanding painting. Smiles to you Li..........:))
Diane, Thank you. I am happy that you enjoy it. I am learning. So much we have to learn and practise to be better. That is why we are here. Good luck to you .
Love your colours Li They are made more beautiful by your light and shade .
